The Lizzie Herbert House once located on the
west side of Herbertsville Road on the border with Wall Township, is post
and beam construction. The House was once the home of Abram and Mary
Woolley Herbert. It was originally the Woolley family homestead. Abram and
Mary had five children Earl, Emma Elizabeth, Bessie, Effie, and Caroline.
Emma Elizabeth (Lizzie) for whom the house is named was born in the house
on December 2, 1903 and lived there until her death on December 15, 1998.

| The house was moved to the Havens Homestead site on May 30 2001, and now serves as a country store for the Brick Township Historical Society. Presently the Lizzie Herbert House is used as a country store. Many of the items for sale have been produced by members of the Brick Historical Society or the Ocean County Historical Society. The Brick Township Historical Society is a non profit organization and all proceeds go toward the development and maintenance of the Havens Homestead Museum and surrounding buildings (Volunteers welcome). The store is open during normal museum hours. Some of the items that are for sale at the museum are listed below and are for sale by mail. Stop by the Havens Homestead Museum and see the many items on display. The museum is a fun place for children of all ages. |
