The Brick Township Historical Society meets the second Tuesdays of September,
November, January, March and June at 7:30 pm in the Herbertsville Firehouse, 601 Herbertsville
Road, Brick, New Jersey

Programs are presented at each general meeting, which are open to the public. Besides the general meetings the Society runs bus trips, workshops, and participates in local events.

The Society operates the
Havens Homestead
521 Herbertsville Road,
Brick, NJ.

Proceeds from sales and fund raisers are used to maintain Havens Homestead, which
is open for tours and special events.

September 9, 2014 – Author Joseph G. Bilby will be speaking about 350 years of New Jersey history. This commemorates the 350th anniversary of our state since its first designation with the name “Jersey.”
November 11, 2014 – Timothy Hart, Ocean County Historian and the Division Director for the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission, will speak about how Ocean County branched off from Monmouth County in 1850.
January 13, 2015  -  Chris Claus, Chief Park Naturalist of Cattus Island County Park, will speak about the ecological damage that Superstorm Sandy caused in the northern Barnegat Bay.
March 10, 2015 – German Georgieff, Chief Naturalist of Wells Mills County Park, will take us down the dusty rails of the Tuckerton New Jersey Central and the Pennsylvania Railroads.

June 9, 2015 – Andrew Anderson, the Historic Resource Interpretive Specialist at Double Trouble Village State Historic Site, will present a program on that village and its long, storied history which dates back to the colonial period.
